Clash of The Tryants
- Hippias was a tryant who ruled from 527 to 510 BCE.
- Hippias was scared that he was going to get murdered like his brother did so he made some harsh rules because he ruled and didn't want to get killed.
- Eventually he was expelled from Athens which is called being ostracized.
- He began to work with the Persian king Darius I and is helping them invade Marathon for revenge.
- Draconian means very harsh or strict.
- 508 BC started Democracy.
- When Hippias was gone Isagoras and Cleisthenes both were aristocrats.
- Isagoras had support from other aristocrats and from Sparta.
- Cleisthenes had support from the majority of Athens.
- Isagoras ostracized Cleisthenes.
- Isagoras was trapped on the acropolis for two days and on the third day he left and was not allowed back.
- Isagoras becomes archon eponymous which was a tyrant.
- Cleisthenes was a member of the elite who were very rich.
- Ostracized means that someone is exclude from a society or group.
