Telling Times and Time Zones

Geographers describe where things are by these three things scale, space, and connections. Time Zones are a range of longitudes where a common standard time is used. UTC is Universal Time Coordinated. GMT is Greenwich Mean Time. Daylight Savings Time is the practice of turning the clock ahead as warmer weather approaches and back as it becomes colder again so that people will have one more hour of daylight in the afternoon and evening during the warmer season of the year. Standard Deviation is a quantity calculated to indicate the extent of deviation for a group as a whole.  Geographers calculate standard deviation off of time at UTC by every fifteen degrees they either add or subtract depending on which way they are going.
