  • Second Punic war was 218- 201BCE
  • General Hannibal attacks Rome from the north after crossing Iberia.
  • 29-year-old general Hannibal attacks Rome.
  • Carthage was burned for 17 days
  • The city’s walls and buildings were utterly destroyed
  • When the war was over with the last 50,000 people in the city were sold into slavery.

Mason Freburger 3/26/20 The Plague and The Corona Virus          The plague that hit Athens during the Peloponnesian and the Corona Virus that is happening now is very similar. The plague is bad because it is a disease that was not curable back then so everyone would die from it if they had it. If you get the Corona Virus and you have a bad immune system you can die from it because there is no cure yet. The plague was spreading like wildfire and all of Athens had it. The Corona Virus is spreading slowly around the world. The city of Athens was destroyed and smelled horrible. The stocks and economy is dropping because of the Corona Virus. People are panicking because they are getting food ,toilet paper ,ammo, guns, can goods and more. If you go to a grocery store all the shelves are emptying you can find anything that you need. I think that the Corona  Virus is going to pass overtime unlike the Plague because the plague killed everyone.

Mason Freburger 5/26/20 Study  Guide Notes I will be taking my test on Tuesday June 2nd from 8:55- 9:45 am. Poet Juvenal said that Rome is always asking for bread and circuses as something they need. They needed bread which was free grain from the state.  They needed entertainment like circuses or Colsseum to keep them alive and distracted. Tiberius Gracchus has advantages of courting with the plebeians because they don't have much. Military generals lead an army to conquer land. T here was three men that formed the First Triumvirate which was also known as the rule of three men.  Caesar appoints himself governor of Gaul. Pompey gets jealous and becomes his rival. Octavian was named Julius Caesar’s sole heir.

Mason Freburger  10/18/19 Globalization and Cultural Diffusion            Different places are similar because it is still a place and each place has land, and Water. Cultural Diffusion  is  the process of spreading cultural traits from one region to another In cultural anthropology and cultural geography. Five major types of Cultural Diffusion that occur is Expansion Diffusion, Expansion Diffusion is an idea that stays strong in that area and they keep using it.   Relocation Diffusion is how  things get place to place from other cultures. Hierarchical Diffusion is and idea that spreads from a larger place to a smaller place and that idea becomes a heritage. Contagious Diffusion is and idea that spreads based on a person to person contact. Stimulus Diffusion  is and idea that diffuses and adapts and changes.
