Twelve Tables
The Twelve Tables was a set of twelve laws. They were created in 451 B.C. when ten officials came up with the laws. Each of the 12 laws was carved onto a bronze tablet. The laws were hung in the Forum. These laws were the basis for later Roman laws in the future. The main idea of the laws was that all free citizens had a right to the protection of the law.
