Corana Virus is Challenging

Mason Freburger 3/31/20  Corona Virus         The Corona Virus is taking over the world and the deaths keep going up everyday. In Maryland there are 1660 confirmed cases of the Corona Virus. Today on the news it said that in twenty four hours 700 people got the Corona Virus. This is the first time in history that they cancelled school for other reasons than war. I think this is much more challenging not being at school because when I'm in school I am tought what I am learning but at home I have to learn to teach myself. There is much more work in cyber school than in school because in school the teacher waste time talking and handing out papers. So many businesses and stores have closed down because of the Corona Virus. They closed because they don't have people buying their product and cant afford to stay open. In my opinion I think this was Chinas plan to kill us all.

The Plague and The Corona Virus

Mason Freburger 3/26/20 The Plague and The Corona Virus          The plague that hit Athens during the Peloponnesian and the Corona Virus that is happening now is very similar. The plague is bad because it is a disease that was not curable back then so everyone would die from it if they had it. If you get the Corona Virus and you have a bad immune system you can die from it because there is no cure yet. The plague was spreading like wildfire and all of Athens had it. The Corona Virus is spreading slowly around the world. The city of Athens was destroyed and smelled horrible. The stocks and economy is dropping because of the Corona Virus. People are panicking because they are getting food ,toilet paper ,ammo, guns, can goods and more. If you go to a grocery store all the shelves are emptying you can find anything that you need. I think that the Corona  Virus is going to pass overtime unlike the Plague because the plague killed everyone.

Philip II, Alexander the Great, and Darius III

Mason Freburger  3/25/20 Philip II - Philip II was known as Philip II of Spain because he was the King of Spain. He was born in May 21, 1527. He died in September 13, 1598. King Philip II was the King of the Spaniards from 1556–1598 and King of the Portuguese as Philip I from 1580–1598. Philip II was remembered for his success and failures. His Successes were that his army beat Ottomans so they were defeated in 1571. Another success is that the spread of Protestantism in Italy and Spain was prevented because of him. His failures in his government was that the revolt of the Netherlands began in 1566, it sacrificed the Invincible Armada to the English in 1588.  Alexander the Great - Alexander the Great  was a King of the Ancient Greek Kingdom of Macedon and a member of the Argead dynasty.  He took over for his father Phil...

Alexander cyber 5

Mason Freburger  3/23/20 Alexander and Bucephalus Relationship     Bucephalus was Alexander the Great's horse. His horse is known to be the most famous horse in history. Bucephalus was brought to Alexander the Greats father   King Phillip the II. The horses price was three times the normal price of a horse. The horse was black and taller than any other Macedonian horse.  Bucephalus was possibly born around 355 BCE. For Alexander to get the horse his father challenged him  and said he would pay for the horse if Alexander were unable to tame him. So  Alexander walked toward the horse calmly. But then he had realized the horse was afraid of his own shadow. So Alexander turned Bucephalus toward the sun so his shadow was behind him Alexander mounted him and rode of off with the horse  Bucephalus.  Bucephalus and Alexander had such a good relationship that only Alexander could ride him. Alexander rode him into ...

Cyber feeling

Mason Freburger 3/20/20 How I Feel About Cyber School      The first week of cyber school worked out good for me. I think cyber schooling is much harder than regular school because when your in school the teacher is talking like half the class and teaching what we are learning. Cyber school you have be independent and learn everything on your own so the work is much harder. I personally think that the teachers are giving a reasonable amount of work that we have to do per day. I like cyber school because you can take breaks when you are doing your work and also you don't have to turn anything in till 11:59pm so you don't have to wake up early unlike school. My experience with cyber schooling is great so far but there is for sure pros and cons between cyber schooling and school. If I had to pick between school or cyber school I would pick school because I would want to be with my friends and creating memories in High School.

Philosophers cyber 4

Mason Freburger  3/19/20 Philosophers        A Philosopher is  a person engaged or learned in philosophy, especially as an academic discipline. The Greek Philosophers based their thinking on the universe, Land, sky and sea. Socrates  was a Greek philosopher and is known as one of the founders of Western philosophy and also as being the first moral philosopher of the Western ethical tradition of thought. Socrates was admired by people who understood his ideas. Others who didn't believe his ideas were very confused and puzzled.  Some of Athenian found the ideas of Socrates so disturbing because he was neglecting the city gods and also forced the Athenians to listen to his teachings. The jury  disagreed and Socrates was condemned to death. Plato was also a Athenian  philosopher and founder of the Platonist school of thought. Plato was a student of Socrates. Plato writings dominated ph...

The Plague

Mason Freburger 3/17/20 The Plague       In this episode I watched how Athens plan unfolds. Athens plan unfolds in the war because of the plague. The plague is on one of the cargo ships and it is spreading like a wild fire. The plague is bad because it is a disease that was not curable back then so everyone would die from it if they had it. The amount of soldiers they had started to decrease because everyone started getting the plague. The city was suffering , destroyed, smelled bad, and everyone was terrified. No one saw good because there were bodies everywhere and people suffering. The plague ceased Pericles and he died. Sparta was going to burn all farm land around the city of Athens. The Athenian people were getting anxious when their fields and their crops where getting destroyed. Pericles did convince the Athenians to stick with his plan even though it was a bad idea and everyone is going to die.

Mason Freburger  3/16/20 Page 134-139         Pericles was a influential statesman, orator, and general of Ancient Athens. Pericles led Athens during  most of the golden age. He also had three goals and they were to strengthen Athenian Democracy, to hold and strengthen the empire, and to glorify Athens. A Direct Democracy is ran by having citizens rule directly and through representatives which means when they are when making a decision it has less people that would say no and just go through to the officials. Direct Democracy is used for making laws, directly electing, and also dismissing officials. The Delian League worked because it was an alliance between   Greek city-states which would stop some was and that was led by Athens. There was an alliance over 300 would eventually be  dominated so Athens could take over. When Athens took over the Athenian Empire started. Athens became stronger and more aggressive so that th...

Corona Virus

Mason Freburger 3/13/20 Corona Virus  The only people that can die from the Corona Virus is elderly people and people with a bad immune system. If a child has it he or she is most likely to have no symptoms.  The governor shut down all schools for two weeks because of the Corona.  Coronas symptoms are dry cough, headache, pain in legs, and fever.  The Corona Virus started from a guy in china eating bat soup.  The Flu has killed more people than the Corona Virus.  To not get the Corona Virus you have to not touch your face and keep washing your hands.  In class we learned about the Corona Virus and talked about how to complete the work on online learning.  I am kinda happy that we are off for two weeks. We can't go to school because if we have the Corona Virus it could kill old teachers or even your grandmother.

The Greeks

Mason Freburger  3/10/20 The Greeks  Athens is a tiny city in Greece The Greeks often ate dinner while lying on their sides. About one third of the population of some city-states were slaves. There were more city-states than just Sparta and Athens, Ancient Greece had around 100 city-states. The Romans copied much of the Greek culture including their gods, architecture, language, and how they ate.  Pheidippides was a Greek hero who ran 150 miles from Marathon to Sparta to get help against the Persians. After the Greeks won the war, he ran 25 miles from Marathon to Athens to announce the victory. This is where the marathon running race gets its name. When law trials were held in the city of Athens, they used large juries of 500 citizens.  Greece is considered to be the worlds first Democracy.  Greece is also one of the sunniest countries in the world.  98% of the total population are ethnic greeks There are more than ...
